What is House Call / In-Home Grooming?
House call grooming is a unique service that allows your dog to keep up with necessary grooming within the comfort and safety of his or her own home. We are NOT a mobile van or trailer service. I bring portable and professional grade equipment into your home and can bathe/groom your pet in the bathroom, kitchen or another area of your choosing. No need to worry about clean up, I will vacuum or sweep after I'm done.
What are the benefits of House Call / In-Home Grooming?
Convenience - I bring the spa to you! No need to put a dirty dog in your car!
Attention - Your dog will receive personal, one-on-one attention throughout the entire groom.
Fun - The grooming process is much more enjoyable. There is no separation anxiety because the pet never leaves your home.
Relaxing - The environment of your home provides a quiet space free from the noises of strange pets and people.
Crate free - Because grooms are completed start to finish, there is no need for your pet to be kenneled during the groom.
Groom time - Since your pet will be my sole focus while I'm there, the groom will not take as long as it might at a traditional salon.
No Smelly Car ride – This low-stress option is perfect for puppies, seniors, and other pets who need extra TLC .
Do I need to provide anything?
Just a sink or bathtub to wash your pet in, a quite area to fit a small grooming table and an electrical outlet. We bring our own towels, shampoos, dryers, and grooming equipment.
What vaccinations do you require?
By State Law, all we require is a copy of your dogs Rabies vaccination.
My pet has allergies, do you offer hypo-allergenic products?
Yes, in fact we do offer a hypo-allergenic shampoo & conditioner for an additional charge. Please refer to our Services & Prices page.
How long will it take for my pet to be groomed?
It depends on the condition of the coat, the style you would like and the cooperation of your pet. Generally, it takes between 1 to 2 hours to complete a groom.
Do I have to be home?
The pet owner needs to be home and available for questions during the initial groom. After the first appointment, it is not necessary for the owner to be present. Just let us know ahead of time, so we can make arrangements for access to your home/pet.
Can I watch?
You are welcome to watch but it depends on your pooches behavior. Most pets get wiggly when they see there mom & dad and will behave better if you are not within eyesight.
What kind of pets do you groom?
We can only accommodate dogs that weigh less than 35lbs.
How often should I schedule my dog for grooming?
It depends on how long your pets coat is and how much brushing (if any) you want to do at home. Most pets can be kept looking great if they are groomed every 4, 6 or 8 weeks. After your appointment we will usually ask you if you would like to schedule your next appointment.
What happens if my pet bites or is aggressive?
If your pet gets nippy for certain parts of the groom we may be required to use a soft muzzle and leash for everyone's safety. However, should we feel a danger and/or safety concern from your pet, we will not continue with the grooming process. You may have to pay for the portion of the groom that has been completed and/or a $20 trip fee. We will not be able to groom extremely aggressive pets, they are best done at a veterinarian's office or grooming salon where they have all the necessary equipment and assistance.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash,Check or Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover & American Express). There is a $35 fee for returned checks. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We do not carry change for security reasons, please have the correct amount if you wish to pay cash. Please write your check out to JC's Dog Grooming. Please don't forget we must add sales tax (6.35%) to the final groom total.
What are your hours?
We can make appointments Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am - 12pm. Appointment times depend upon availability. If you need a later evening appointment, we may be able to accommodate you.
Whats your cancellation policy?
We fully understand that emergencies happen and schedules change, If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please call us at least 24hrs before your scheduled appointment time. If you fail to do so you will be charged a No Call fee of $20 that will be added to your next grooming invoice or you will be sent a bill in the mail.
May I tip my groomer?
Tips are always appreciated, but it is not in any way required or expected. We do not carry change for security reasons.
